The world of freelancery

The world of freelancery

As 2024 draws to a close, I’m excited to be entering the brave world of freelancery!

Since turning round a child safety charity, only to see Covid put a stop to it all, I’ve not really found a role that provides all I need. Do any of these factors resonate with you too?

⚒️ Makes use of my experience and skills – it can be frustrating not to be able to fix things when you can see it’s needed. I need to feel useful.

🎯 Enables me to have a direct and positive impact. I’ve discovered I have low tolerance for talking shops. I want good stuff to happen! I think that given the multiple crises we face, we need to move fast and mend things, and I need to know I am contributing and not just talking…

😄 Meets personal and family needs. For me, this is being able to stay in fabulous Dorset with at least some face to face contact. I like being home-based, but need to get out too and am motivated by meeting people, understanding their objectives, and complementing their strengths with mine.

So I’m aiming to combine my experience in education, business, public and third sectors, alongside my enjoyment of graphic design and writing, to offer support in the following areas to non profits, small business, community organisations and individuals.

👉 Communication – graphic design, newsletters and publications, website design and management, strategy development

👉 Engagement – informing, engaging and activating supporters, service users, partners, customers or the local community

👉 Education – building effective school programmes promoting skills for life, not just exams

I’m especially keen to work with smaller organisations contributing to a fairer and more sustainable planet in some way by helping them spruce up – or start – their comms, engagement and education activities. 🩷 I love social purpose! 🩷
